A weekly practice partner · Launching January

Build your Rule of Life.
Actually keep it.

A practice partner for the way of Jesus — one small step at a time, inside your real week. No streaks. No guilt.

Keep the Rule is an AI practice partner. It isn’t a pastor, a priest, or a substitute for your community — it’s the nudge between Sundays.

The problem

You already know what to practice.
The hard part is Thursday.

You read the book. You wrote a Rule of Life on a Sunday afternoon — Sabbath, silence, Scripture, generosity, community. It was good. Then Monday came, and the week did what weeks do.

Reading plans fail by February. Habit apps turn devotion into a quota. A Rule of Life was never meant to be a scoreboard. It was meant to be a trellis — something you grow along. Keep the Rule is the trellis that shows up in your week.

How it works

Three short conversations a week. That’s the whole method.

Monday
Choose one step

Ten minutes. Look at your Rule and your actual week, and choose one small, concrete practice for the days ahead.

Wednesday
Check in

Two minutes. How is it going? What got in the way? Adjust — without starting over.

Friday
Notice

Five minutes. What did you notice about God, about yourself, about your week? Carry it into Sunday.

What it looks like

A conversation, not a checklist.

Monday · Choose one step
Keep the RuleYour Rule has “silence before the phone” in it. What does this week actually look like — travel, early mornings, kids?
YouTwo early meetings, and I’m solo with the kids Thu–Fri.
Keep the RuleThen let’s not aim for every morning. What about three mornings — Mon, Tue, Wed — five minutes before you pick up the phone?
This week’s step: 5 min silence before the phone, Mon–Wed.
Wednesday · Check in
Keep the RuleHalfway. How did the silent mornings go?
YouMonday yes. Tuesday I grabbed the phone before I remembered.
Keep the RuleOne of two is one of two. What if the phone charges in the kitchen tonight, so tomorrow the choice is already made?
Adjustment: Phone charges in the kitchen.
Friday · Notice
Keep the RuleLooking back at the week — what did you notice in the quiet mornings?
YouI was less reactive at work on the days I did it. Didn’t expect that.
Keep the RuleWorth bringing to Sunday. Is this a practice you want to keep next week, or let rest?
Noticed: Less reactive on quiet-morning days.

What is a Rule of Life?

A Rule of Life is an old idea — a simple, written pattern of practices that shape a life around Jesus. The word comes from the Latin regula, a trellis: not a cage, but a structure that helps something living grow in a direction.

Monastic communities have kept rules for 1,500 years. In the last few years, the practice has spread far beyond monasteries — through books, podcasts and small groups learning to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did. Most people now have a Rule. Very few have help keeping it.

Works with your tradition

  • Your Rule, your words. Bring the practices your church or your reading gave you. We don’t replace them.
  • Catholic, Anglican, evangelical, Reformed. Keep the Rule coaches the keeping, not the doctrine. Questions of teaching belong with your community.
  • No streaks, no shame. You can skip a week. You can change the step on Wednesday. Grace is the design, not a feature.
  • Private by default. Your conversations are yours. Not sold, not used to train models, deletable any time.

Questions
Is this a Bible app?

No. You already have one. Keep the Rule doesn’t deliver readings or devotionals — it helps you keep the practices you’ve chosen, inside the week you actually have.

Is it an AI?

Yes, and we say so plainly. It’s an AI practice partner trained to coach small steps, not to teach theology or pray on your behalf. It will point you back to Scripture, your church and real people — not away from them.

What if I don’t have a Rule of Life yet?

You can start with one practice. The first conversation helps you choose it. A Rule grows; it doesn’t need to be finished to be kept.

Which tradition is it for?

Any Christian tradition that practices a Rule of Life. It coaches the keeping — the rhythm, the obstacles, the small next step — and leaves teaching to your church.
